Actor Sara Ali Khan grew up with actors around her; first, her parents – Saif Ali Khan and Amrita Singh who have successful filmy careers, even her stepmom, Kareena Kapoor Khan is one of the top actors currently. However, for her, the first star would be none of them but her grandmother and evergreen star Sharmila Tagore. In an interview with ETimes, she revealed that in her opinion, Sharmila is the first star and she finds herself extremely lucky to have a grandmother like her. She also expressed her feelings on seeing her grandmother and veteran star Sharmila Tagore onscreen and says it feels surreal and strange to see her on-screen
“I'm very lucky to have a grandmother like her because she is very warm. She is amazing. She epitomizes dignity and grace. And she's also an extremely maternal and loving grandmother," Sara shared to the portal. “If I watch ‘Aradhana’, and ‘Mere Sapno ki Rani’, I’m like, Oh my God, that's my dadi! Like, are you serious? Because she's just superb, you know, she's a star. I think she's the first star in my opinion. So sometimes it's almost confusing for me, like, really that lady is my grandmother! You know, it's weird. It is very strange. But, I mean, she's amazing. And I'm very lucky to have her in my life,” the Simmba actor further shared.
On December 8, the veteran star Sharmila celebrated her birthday and to wish her on a special day, Sara shared a couple of adorable snaps with her dadi and called her the pillar of support and guiding force. She wrote, “Happy happy Birthday Badi Amman Thank you for being my pillar of support, guiding force and inspiration. I love you lots.”
